• Avoid idling your engine in the heat of the day. Turn off the air conditioner and use only the blower if you will be idling for more than 3 or 4 minutes.
• At least once each year take your car to a service center to have them drain and flush your cooling system. Have them check the radiator, hoses, seals and connections and also check for leaks in the cooling system and refrigerant lines.
• During the winter you should run the air-conditioner for about 10 minutes every week to lubricate the seals.
